Ingredients

Directions

  1. put mustard seed in bottom of mason jar
  2. chop carrots into bite size pieces
  3. peel celery root with knife, removing dirt and rind; slice/chop into bite size pieces
  4. add veggies to jar
  5. tear cabbage leaves into large pieces and place on top of turnips, tucking edges downward against the sides of the jar to keep turnips submerged
  6. put ferment weight on top of cabbage leaf pieces
  7. cover with brine
  8. seal

The brine came up into the air-lock. On Monday, December 20, I removed the cap, poured off the extra brine, removed the brine from the air lock, and resealed it.
