Carrots With Ginger and Black Mustard Seed

  1. chop carrots into bite-sized pieces
  2. peel and slice ginger root into thin slices
  3. place carrots, ginger, and mustard seed in canning jar
  4. cover with brine
  5. seal


There is no photo for this ferment. This is the original version of a ferment recipe that can be found at However, the photo accompanying that ferment shows a different date, May 19, not 4 as was first entered. Moreover, the label on the ferment does not indicate mustard seeds.

Unsure of what I had done, I copied the recipe onto this page. The only change is this meta note. I then modified the original recipe to match, as closely as I could, what the photo indicates.
